PhotoChops: Meereal
Notes:I originally planned to enter this merging of a meerkat and a seal into a "mate two animals" contest on the Worth 1000 site, but couldn't get clearance to use the images in time for the contest deadline. After two attempts, I still haven't heard back from János Scheffer, the photographer who took the picture of the meerkat, so I'm posting it anyway, and encourage folks to visit János' web site and check out his other wonderful photography. The seal photo is used by permission from LABB, The Laboratory for Applied Biotelemetry & Biotechnology. The image was collected through a permit under the US Marine Mammal Protection Act, # 821-1588, as well as a permit under the Antarctic Conservation Act, # ACA2002-003. Source Images:
