Shrek the Third marketing: Puss in Boots (2007) - 2.22 MB / 0:25 / MOV

We were hired by Dreamworks to create several promotional pieces for Shrek the Third, including an interview with Puss in Boots for Univision and Telefutura, a couple of Spanish TV networks. There were a few different versions of the interview, but they all shared this one long shot where Puss gives a rundown of the movie's plot, and I volunteered to animate it. (alternate version with English titles.) See animation stages for this shot...

Everyone's Hero: Darlin (2006) - 2.09 MB / 0:10 / MOV

This is my favorite from the handful of shots I had the privilege of animating for Everyone's Hero. See animation stages for this shot...

Everyone's Hero: Screwie test (2006) - 501 KB / 0:05 / MOV

Before starting our chunk of animation on Everyone's Hero, we had a little time to play with the rigs. From some Halo 2 outtakes I found a while back, I picked an audio clip that was a good fit for Screwie, and threw this together in about a day. I strayed from my normal workflow a bit and put this together in layers. I worked out his overall translation first, added hops, then squash and stretch, and finished with facial animation.

BOZ intro segment (2005) - 1.24 MB / 0:11 / MOV

A BOZ teaser DVD was produced in the fall of '05, featuring sample bits of the full releases, and custom clips were animated to introduce each sample. I was asked to animate this segment, which led into a sample of one of the interstitial musical numbers that run between the stories. See animation stages for this shot...

Gangrene face test (2004) - 1.62 MB / 0:14 / MOV

While preparing for animation on Action Man, we had a chance to test-drive the facial rigs for some characters. I was really impressed with the setup for Gangrene, and did a test using one of his lines from the story. I copied most of this animation when animating the rest of the shot, but a lot of it is lost in his body movement.

Robots PSA (2004) - 233 KB / 0:04 / MOV (video only)

In the fall of 2004, Reel FX was contracted to produce a "Turn off your cell phones" PSA for overseas theatres, featuring characters from the Robots feature film. While everyone else was working on the bulk of the PSA, I got to animate this final shot.
